There are so many fabulous walking routes and sights near Goulton Beck and what better way to explore the area than on foot.
Whether you are a keen hiker or just prefer a gentle stroll with a pub or coffee break there is something for everyone nearby. We have listed a few of our favourite walks here:

Cod Beck Reservoir Circular Route
If you are looking for a short and leisurely paced walk Cod Beck Reservoir Circular Route would be a great option and is situated only a 10 minute drive from the park. It is a family friendly 1.5mile circular trail along the shore of Cod Beck Reservoir and the surrounding woodland. More information can be found here
Roseberry Topping
Around a 15 minute drive from the park you can reach Roseberry Topping. There are various walks around and up the summit perfect for every ability. We would recommend visiting in late spring when the woodland areas are carpeted in bluebells and various wildlife can be spotted. The National Trust lists various routes on their website here
Whitby to Robin Hood’s Bay
If you prefer to venture to the coast for a walk, Whitby can be reached in less than 50 minutes drive from Goulton Beck. It is around a 7 mile walk from Whitby down to Robin Hood’s Bay following the Cleveland National Trail on a stunning cliff top path overlooking the picturesque bay. If you want a change of scenery on the way back there is a disused railway line route, the “cinder track” that you can follow all the way back to Whitby. If you would rather end your walk in Robin Hood’s Bay you can relax with some fish and chips in the knowledge that there is a regular bus service back to Whitby. You can find out more here
Saltburn-by-the-Sea
A great coastal walk to blow off the cobwebs within 30 minutes drive of the park is the coastal route around Victorian seaside town Saltburn-by-the-Sea which covers part of the Cleveland way and features amazing views. You could even add on a trip on the tramway or in summer hire a beach hut for the day. A great 5 mile circular route can be found here
Scarth Wood Moor loop and Mount Grace Priory
Another wonderful circular walk located around a 10 minute drive from the park starts at Cod Beck Reservoir and takes in a woodland, moorland and a pretty little village, with a stop off at the priory. You can find directions here
